
Kathmandu (the Valley of the Gods), Pokhara (the Gateway to the Annapurnas), Lhasa (the forbidden city), and Bhutan (the Land of the Thunder Dragon) - these are the places you will explore in this tour.
The Tour begins in Kathmandu, Nepal. Throughout the Kathmandu valley are Hindu temples, Buddhist shrines and ancient palaces. Here you will find seven World Heritage Sites within a radius of less than 10 miles. In Nepal, you will also fly to Pokhara to soak views of the high snow-capped Annapurna mountains. From Kathmandu, you will fly to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Here you will visit the Potala Palace, the seat of the Dalai Lamas, and other monasteries. An excursion to the Ganden monastery is also included and this will allow you to experience the rustic Tibetan plateau without actually driving off to remote locations in Tibet.
The Tour ends in Bhutan from where you will fly to Bangkok. You will visit the three major towns in Bhutan: Thimpu, the capital, Paro and Punakha.
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Arrive Kathmandu. Met on arrival. Transferred to Hotel. Rest of day free
Day 02: Full Day City Tour in and around Kathmandu valley. Overnight at Hotel.
Drive to Bhaktapur for a half-day of sightseeing. Bhaktapur – the City of Devotees – is a medieval city that is least disturbed by modern life within the Kathmandu valley. Here, you can absorb the architectural splendor of the five-storied Nyatapola temple, or the sculptural delight of the Peacock Window. Return to Hotel Tibet and prepare for your trek towards Mt Kailash. You can store excess luggage at the Hotel.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmand to Pokhara and Hike to Dhampus. Overnight at Hotel.
Fly to Pokhara (30 minutes). After arrival in Pokhara, you have the option to hike to Dhampus. The hike can take between 2 to 3 hours and is mostly steep up hill. Dhampus is a great place to view the Annapurna mountains including Annapurna, Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli.
Day 04: Return back to Pokhara and sightseeing tour. Overnight at Hotel.
Return to Pokhara by car from Dhampus. In the morning, visit the Nepal Mountaineering museum. In the afternoon free to stroll by the lake side. Overnight Shangrila Village Resort or similar.
Day 05: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Board an afternoon flight to Kathmandu. The remaining day is free.
Day 06: Full day city tour in Kathmandu and Patan. Overnight at Hotel.
Explore the sights, sounds and pleasant chaos that is Kathmandu: Visit Swayambhunath, the monkey temple, overlooking Kathmandu city. Onwards to Kathmandu Durbar square with its maze of temples and the palace complex. In this complex lives the little girl-goddess – Kumari.. After lunch, visit the well-maintained Patan Museum storing ancient Nepali artifacts, followed by a tour of Patan Durbar (palace) Square. Time-permitting, at the end of the day, visit the Tibetan Refugee Centre.
Day 07: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel.
Fly to Lhasa. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel by the Barkhor square in Lhasa. The ride from the airport to Lhasa can take up to an hour. Free to roam the Barkhor square in the evening.
Day 08 and 09: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa city. Overnight at Hotel.
Two full days of sightseeing are scheduled on your visit to Tibet. Visit Potala Palace, the ancient palace of the Dalai Lamas, and the Sera Monastery where you can watch the monks debate using interesting hand gestures. You will also drive outside of Lhasa to the Ganden Monastery Complex. This was once the largest monastery in the world where over 5,000 monks lived and studied.
Day 10: Fly back from Lhasa to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel.
Fly to Kathmandu and Free day.
Day 11: City Tour in Kathmandu valley and rest time for shopping. Overnight at Hotel.
Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Evening Free.
Day 12: Fly from Kathmandu to Paro ( Bhutan) and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Fly to Paro. Day free in Paro.
Day 13: Hike and drive to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.
Hike to Tiger's Nest, a monastery perched by a cliff. The hike can take up to 3 hours. In the evening drive to Thimpu (1 hours).
Day 14: Full day Tour in Thimpu City. Overnight at Hotel.
The following day is a full day of sightseeing in Thimpu. In the evening, visit the weekend market.
Day 15: Drive from Thimpu to Punakha. Overnight at Hotel.
Drive to Punakha. At Punakha visit the spectacular Punakha dzong.
Day 16: Drive from Punakha to Paro. Overnight at Hotel.
Drive to Paro. Evening free in Paro.
Day 17: Fly from Paro to Bangkok and take flight to home.
Fly Paro to Bangkok.
